About me

My name is Marjaana. I’m originally from Finland and now live in the Pacific Northwest with my family. Our home is in the beautiful small town of Duvall, WA. My husband and I have three children and two golden retrievers.

I have a lifelong interest in communities and the individuals in them. With my coaching services I’m inspired to empower people and communities to live to their full potential.

As a child, I lived in a family where involvement in the local community was highly valued. Our home was always open for family, friends, and occasional visitors. My dad dedicated most of his adult life for volunteering in local non-profits and other community organizations. When I started studying in the University of Turku, I discovered a calling for social work. As I earned my master's in social work, I developed a deep interest in how communities shape individuals, and vice versa. I got to do my internship in a therapeutic community and learn how a healing community may look like.

I came to Christ at the age 17 and have been actively involved in my local church ever since. God has given me the gift of leadership. I rejoice in being able to put them to use for His glory. During our marriage, my husband and I have moved eight times between Finland, Germany, and USA. Each move (except for the last one) has meant finding new friends, new schools, new support systems, new hobbies, and a new church, often in a new culture.

In our current church I learned about the principles of Natural Church Development (NCD). That set me off to my new career path! NCD is a brilliant, research and Bible-based approach to healthy communities and thriving individuals. I can whole-heartedly agree with it and it’s very inspiring to me! By the encouragement of other leaders in our church body, I first got training in NCD coaching and now study to become a certified coach by International Coaching Federation. It is the most rigorous international coaching certification process in the world, and the training with Fluxify helps me deepen and improve my coaching practice.
